Dogs of ERG
At ERG Headquarters our word for February is the obvious:
LOVE
One thing we love that loves us right back is our dogs.
Here’s a quick look at three dogs of ERG:
Madi
My human: Alice Oakley
My breed: Lab mix
My birthday: 2016
My story: My former owner surrendered me to the Forsyth Humane Society when I was a year old. Apparently, they got tired of me jumping the fence when I was left alone all day. In the summer of 2017, Miller and Lillian came in one day as part of a camp and convinced their mom to come back later. They almost adopted a dog named Maxwell since I was not in the public area yet for viewing. Right before they were leaving to go think about Maxwell, one of the workers brought them to me privately and I got to go home with them that same day!
Things I love:
- Riding in cars
- Walks to anywhere
- Hanging out with my humans
Things I hate:
- Being alone
- Thunderstorms
Fun Fact about me & my human: I let her drink her coffee on the back porch in the mornings while I protect her and the rest of the house from a geese or squirrel attack.
Nellie
My human: Hope Reagan
My breed: Frenchie
My birthday: 2014
My story: I found my forever home when I was 8 weeks old. My family had a huge 6 year old English Bulldog who was 75 pounds (I was 7 pounds when they took me to their house.) I had to quickly put this dog in his place. After a few weeks of training, I had the whole family, including Jeter the English bulldog, wrapped around my finger. I have a great life now being an only dog after Jeter went to Doggie Heaven. I spend most of my day looking out the front door watching for dogs to walk by and for the mailman because he gives me treats. The highlight of my day is when my humans get home and we walk and play. I am the QUEEN of the house!
Things I love:
- Walking
- Guarding my bone
- Barking at other dogs when they walk by my house
Things I hate:
- Going outside in the rain or snow
- Going to the Vet
Fun Fact about me & my human: I like to watch TV with my people especially when there are dogs in the show.

My human: Kaitlyn Hamby
My breed: Black lab mix
My birthday: 2015
My story: Kaitlyn and her family came into Forsyth Humane Society one Saturday in March of 2016 “just to look.” Between the five of them, they couldn’t decide between me and another black lab named Annie… so they adopted us both! How lucky are they?! I am usually a chill, couch potato pup, but when I’m in the mood I love to play and run around with my other dog friends in the neighborhood.
Things I love:
- Toys with lots of fluff
- Sitting on the couch with my people
- Peanut butter
Things I hate:
- Strangers (especially men)
- Not getting enough belly rubs
Fun Fact about me & my human: I am a lot stronger than her, and I like to remind her of that often when we go on walks!
