Fitness is Elementary
From the desk of Leigh Ann . . .
“Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of creative and dynamic intellectual activity.” – President Kennedy
Teachers play a critical role in developing the fitness of the minds and bodies of their students. School is the ideal setting for teaching young ones the importance of being physically active and the benefits of making healthy life choices. You may not realize it, but each day elementary school teachers model creative ways to integrate physical activity into their learning day. Here are just a few examples:
Kindergarten Squats
Weight Lifting
Kindergarten Sprints
Each day we have the chance to inspire our students – mentally and physically. As this school year draws to a close remember to keep moving and motivating, and you will stay energized. Fill these last days with happiness and quality learning. It’s good for your health!
” I have chosen to be happy because it is good for my health.” – Voltaire
